So many women enter Lent carrying a quiet heaviness.
Trying to do it “right”
Trying to give things up
Trying to be better
And yet, beneath all of that effort, there is often a deeper ache.
A sense of burden.
A feeling that something inside still needs healing, tenderness, or truth.
This Lent, you are invited into something different.
From Burden to Beloved is a gentle, Christ-centered mini retreat that will help you return to the heart of Jesus and rediscover what Lent is meant to be.
It is a season of interior renewal, holy honesty,
and preparation to receive love more fully.
Lent Is an Interior Journey
The heart of Lent is prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Not as boxes to check, but as invitations to become more receptive to God’s love.
Lent calls us inward so that Christ can dwell more deeply within us.
So that we experience less striving and more grace.
So that our lives begin to reflect not just effort, but peace.
When we slow down, enter silence, and listen, we begin to notice the places inside us that still feel burdened.
Old beliefs
Harsh inner voices
Patterns of overgiving or self-denial that were never rooted in love
The truth of the Gospel is this:
You are not a burden.
You are beloved.
Lent is a season of metanoia, a holy change of mind. A return to the truth of who you are in Christ.
What This Mini Retreat Offers
This 60-minute retreat is a sacred starting point for your Lenten journey.
It is grounding, formative, and accessible. Rooted in Catholic tradition and informed by trauma-aware, somatic wisdom.
You will be guided through three movements:
1. Teaching: Jesus as the Wonderful Counselor
A reflection on Lent as a season of preparation, not punishment.
Latisha will explore how Jesus invites us into prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in a way that heals rather than critiques. This is about humility and compassion, not performance.
2. Guided Somatic Prayer
A Scripture-centered practice to calm your nervous system and open your heart.
Let Christ meet you not just in your thoughts, but in your body and breath.
This is prayer through presence and stillness.
3. Journaling and Lenten Integration
You’ll receive a printable reflection guide for use throughout Lent.
Not a rigid plan, but a gentle invitation to notice where God is calling you to soften, release, receive, and remain.
Can’t attend live? You’ll receive the full recording within 48 hours so you can revisit the retreat anytime you need to pause and reconnect. Whether you’re attending live or catching the recording, this retreat will meet you exactly where you are.
A Different Way to Enter Lent.
This retreat is for the woman who wants Lent to be:
- Meaningful, but not heavy
- Intentional, but not rigid
- Transformative, but gentle
It is for the woman who longs to grow in holiness by becoming more loving, not more exhausted. It is for the woman who senses God is inviting her to change through truth, not pressure.
You do not need to be perfect.
You do not need to be “good at Lent”.
You only need a willingness to turn inward and listen.
You Will Leave With:
-
A new understanding of Lent as preparation for love
-
A felt sense of calm and presence through somatic prayer
-
Language for moving from burdened self-beliefs to beloved identity
-
A journaling guide for your personal Lenten journey
-
A gentle, sacred beginning that opens the door to healing and flourishing

About Your Guide
Hi, I’m Latisha. I’m a licensed trauma therapist, a Catholic Christian, and the founder of The Wonderful Counselor™.
For years, I was the strong one. The one others came to. I knew how to show up with a smile, serve faithfully, and carry on while silently holding pain I didn’t yet have permission to feel.
It wasn’t that I didn’t trust God. I just didn’t know how to feel safe enough to let Him all the way in—into the parts of me that were tender, tired, or afraid.
This retreat was born from that journey.
It is the space I longed for during my own healing. A place to pause the performing, release what’s heavy, and receive God’s presence. Not as a reward for effort, but as a gift of grace.
From Burden to Beloved is more than a retreat.
It is a sacred exhale.
And I would be honored to hold space for you there.
